Minister's Tree House

We went to my parents' house in TN for Christmas week. It was such a relaxing week. I took Kara and my parents to a surprise landmark. I talked it up for over a week. I would not tell them where we were going. They were really starting to worry when we headed down a dead end road just outside Crossville, TN. Not much more than a pig path, really. But there it was. The Minister's Treehouse.

To read all about it, google it, or read about it here or see a USA Today article here. A few quick facts:
  • over 80 rooms
  • a large chapel that doubles as a basketball court
  • over 90 feet tall (it towers above the trees that support it)
  • a minister began building it in 1993 after a vision from God

Yet another Blog Revival

It happens all the time. Some say about one every 2 seconds. A blog dies. It gets abandoned. And it eventually slips from memory. But sometimes, someone tries to revive their blog that they stopped updating 2, 3, or 5 years ago. Who knows why they think it'll be different this time. Why they think people will really want to read the blog this times. Nonetheless, we will attempt to revive this blog from the dead. Here goes.

Kara and I moved to Columbus, OH in March 2008. I am working on my Ph.D at OSU. Kara works for extension at OSU. As always happens, we have formed a community here in Columbus. On October 24, 2009 we found out that we, God willing, will be parents. Our Newbie Newby (as he/she will be the "new" one in the Newby family) is due in June. Ergo, here you have it. The attempt at reviving a blog so that you, someone who apparently cares, can see our pictures and muse over our lives.
